Sentric Music Group, part of Utopia Music, has made four key A&R hires in the United States, bringing experienced executives Matt DuFour, Carlos Escalona Cruz, Kebu Commissiong and Lou Plaia to the company. The hires follow Sentric’s move into North America and establish a presence in all the major markets within the territory.
Sentric Music Group’s rapidly expanding electronic division has today announced the signing of PBH & JACK in partnership with Nick Halkes. Sentric announced a long-term joint venture with pioneering music executive Nick Halkes to bolster its electronic offering earlier this year.
Hammill has accumulated over 30 million Spotify streams (including numerous New Music Friday playlists) via his co-write cuts, as well as international chart success and extensive air play from the likes of BBC Radio 2, BBC Radio 6 Music and BBC Radio 1.
The agreement will mean that Marshall’s publishing roster will benefit from Sentric’s industry-leading administration infrastructure, team and technology. The deal will also give Sentric’s award-winning sync team access to the Marhsall roster for creative opportunties.
Expanding on an existing relationship between the two companies, the JV sees Sentric power Prolifica’s publishing arm - including full administration and creative services - facilitating opportunities for a number of artists on Prolifica’s roster. Prolifica’s publishing division sits alongside its management and label operations.
Founded in 2018, E2 Music is the publishing off-shoot of Edition Records, a jazz record label that, over the last 12 years, has been a creative force in identifying global artists with an uncompromising vision and world-class musicianship.
McShane joins Sentric after holding Business Affairs roles at Sony/ATV, Vevo and the BBC. Meanwhile, Dr Joe Watson has taken on a Data Scientist role at Sentric, having successfully completed a Knowledge Transfer Partnership at the independent publisher.
Sentric Music Group has launched a fund for artists based on the company’s popular recurring blog post that asks some of the music industry’s brightest minds what they would do with a £1,000 budget as an emerging artist.
An award-winning, British songwriter, Hammill landed his first No.1 record in 2016 after co-writing Alice On The Roof’s debut album Higher (Sony/PIAS), which topped the album charts in Alice’s native Belgium.
The deal sees leading indie publisher Sentric and creative music company Riptide join forces on either side of the pond to share staff, resources and infrastructure across territories to the benefit of their catalogues, catalogue owners, artists and writers.
The deal covers Toddla T’s third full length album, Foreign Light, set for release on July 28, as well as previously unpublished work. It represents the latest in a number of traditional publishing deals inked by Sentric in recent months.
The new agreement will see Sentric perform administration duties for artists signed to Modern Sky UK for publishing, as well as commercialising Modern Sky songwriters as far as sync and other opportunities are concerned.
