Bucks agrees sub-publishing deal with Velvetica for France

London, 5th May 2020 Bucks Music Group has agreed a sub-publishing deal with Velvetica Music in France, that sees both companies represent each other in their respective territories.

The move comes after Brigitte Bertholier has decided to retire having been at the independent publisher since the 1960s with founder David Platz.

Bertholier ran two of Bucks’ companies in France, as Managing Director of David Platz Music SARL and NFC SARL.

Velvetica was founded by Thomas Jamois in 2011. Alongside the diverse roster of artists catalogues it administers including Caravan Palace, Lomepal and JB Dunckel (from French band Air), it administers the publishing repertoires of film production companies such as Pathé and Gaumont. It also administers the catalogue of Europe’s leading telco Orange.

Bucks Music Group MD Simon Platz said: “I’d like to say a big thank you to Brigitte for the wonderful contribution she has made over many decades at our company. She has been a fantastic head for our companies in France, and we wish her all the best in her much-deserved retirement.”

On the new agreement, Bucks’ Platz said: “Velvetica is a vibrant company with a great leader in Thomas Jamois. They have a brilliant sync team to compliment our own, and like us are very involved in media music, so this partnership makes sense for a number of reasons.”
