New York , 4th October 2021 Merlin, the independent’s digital music licensing partner, has announced the hire of Caitie Sarnie as Technical Operations Manager. Sarnie brings extensive experience in the digital and independent music realms, having served in various roles at Redeye Worldwide, a leading worldwide distribution and music services company.
A classically-trained violinist, Sarnie describes “falling backwards” into the music industry when she launched her career at Redeye 13 years ago. She developed a passion for exploring, understanding, and democratizing content and metadata and has never looked back. In her time at Redeye, she worked in sales before diving into data and content as Digital Metadata Coordinator, Digital Content Manager, and most recently as the company’s Data & Product Operations Manager.
At Merlin, Sarnie will work closely with the collaborative global team in developing and managing technical operational processes as they relate to Merlin members and partners. Sarnie and the team will support Merlin’s membership in navigating updates and new developments in technical delivery specifications — offering a bridge between members and digital partners.
“Merlin’s goal is to ensure that our members get the maximum value out of every deal we strike with our digital partners,” said Chaida Kapfunde, Director, Technology and Business Solutions. “Technical processes and delivery specs are ever-changing, so it’s important to help effectively guide our members through these updates, as well as guarantee that Merlin’s internal products meet the latest requirements. Caitie’s deep expertise will help Merlin better support its members in an ever-evolving digital landscape.”
When she’s not at work, Sarnie can be found buying too many records, baking, or making questionable crafts with her kids.
