IMPF statement on Poland C-401/19 Art 17

IMPF welcomes the judgement of the European Court of Justice.

Brussels, 26th April 2022 IMPF Board of Directors Statement on the CJEU Judgement of April 26  (C-401/19 – Poland v Parliament and Council):

IMPF welcomes the judgement of the European Court of Justice in the long-awaited decision brought about by Poland’s challenge to Article 17 of the EU Directive on Copyright in the Digital Single Market. IMPF has always believed that the right to fair remuneration for all creators not only upholds the most basic rule of law but is fundamental to the freedom of expression for the creator as citizen. We now look forward to seeing the immediate implementation of the Directive, as it was adopted, across the remaining EU Members States.
