Cambridge, 22nd May 2026 The Cambridge Folk Festival is proud to announce an exciting new partnership with BlueProof, a leader in interactive digital mapping solutions. This collaboration will introduce a dynamic, user-friendly digital map designed to enhance the festival experience for thousands of attendees.
Through this partnership, BlueProof will deliver a custom-built interactive 3D map accessible via mobile devices, allowing festivalgoers to easily navigate the site, locate stages, discover food and drink vendors, and explore amenities in real time. The platform will also feature live updates, performance schedules, and personalised itinerary options.
Festival organisers say the initiative reflects a commitment to improving accessibility, sustainability, and visitor engagement. By reducing reliance on printed materials and providing real-time information, the digital map will streamline the attendee experience while supporting the festival’s environmental goals.
“Partnering with BlueProof allows us to bring the Cambridge Folk Festival experience into the digital age while preserving the charm and community spirit that define the event” says a spokesperson for Cambridge Folk Festival. “We’re excited to offer our audience a smarter, more intuitive way to explore everything the festival has to offer.”
Max Turner, co-founder of BlueProof says “BlueProof is a spatial technology platform that enables intuitive interaction with physical spaces through real-time, 3D mapping. Our journey began as students in Cambridge, where we first conceived the idea for the platform. While serving on the organising committee for the 2022 Jesus College May Ball, we developed our first prototype: a digital programme featuring an interactive 3D map of the event.
As a company still based in Cambridge, we are committed to collaborating with local institutions. We are thrilled to achieve a major milestone by partnering with the Cambridge Folk Festival. Given the festival’s deep local roots and prestigious international reputation, we are immensely proud that this collaboration marks BlueProof’s first UK festival deployment. The Cambridge Folk Festival provides an ideal setting to demonstrate how our technology can enhance navigation, communication, and safety at scale, ensuring a seamless experience for attendees without detracting from the event’s unique character.”
BlueProof are regional finalists for the UK Startup Awards, with results due later this summer.
