London, 13th October 2020 Global independent publishing and legacy marketing company Mojo Music & Media has joined IMPEL – the international collective licensing agency representing digital publishing rights.

A Nashville-based company, Mojo Music & Media is the custodian of legendary songs from every genre and generation including the complete catalogues of iconic rock bands such as KISS, REO Speedwagon and Cheap Trick; a half-century’s worth of country classics from Jerry Reed, Johnny Cash and Elvis to Luke Bryan, Blake Shelton and Kenny Chesney; and more venerable standards associated with Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Nat King Cole and Sarah Vaughan.

Since completing the acquisition of HoriPro Entertainment Group’s 15,000-song catalogue in February 2019, Mojo has closed a further 18 transactions including a JV with London-based Chelsea Music, and catalogue purchases of Los Angeles-based Emerald Forest Entertainment  (Marilyn Manson, Sophie B Hawkins, Brownstone) and the works of Rick Nielsen (Cheap Trick) and D.L. Byron (“Shadows Of The Night”). The company has also concluded deals with some of the most respected songwriters in Nashville including veteran writer/artists Larry Gatlin and Terry McBride, as well as acquiring a co-publishing interest in the entire catalogue of Country Music legends, The Louvin Brothers.

Mojo Music & Media Founder and COO Alan Wallis said: “We are delighted to be joining IMPEL. The chance to work with other independent publishers under the IMPEL umbrella, supported by SACEM’s technology, is a very exciting prospect. The collective is good news not just for Mojo but independent music publishing generally.”

IMPEL CEO Sarah Williams said: “We are delighted that Mojo has chosen to trust IMPEL with their valuable catalogue and we are looking forward to working closely with Alan and his team to ensure that we do it justice.”
