Polarface & Dstnct Space launch a 6 part series of events titled The Neighbourhood Watch

Annnnd... we back baby!!! We’re buzzing to announce June 30th we’ll be back hosting our first live event in over 15 months! Introducing our brand new event series ‘The Neighbourhood Watch’ in collab with Dstnct Space

London , 8th June 2021

Independent record label Polarface and music PR company Dstnct Space have announced that they are to host a new 6-show series, titled The Neighbourhood Watch (TNW), across June – November 2021 at the Folklore, London.

The first live event will premiere on 30th June. The line-up for the June and July events consist of new and emerging acts such as Xadisimon a. and MacOsare (June 30th) and Shamiya BattlesBINA. and DEJA (July 22nd). Produced & curated through a partnership between Polarface and Dstnct SpaceTNW seeks to promote emerging artists and keep the live circuit active post COVID.

Polarface founder Jason Ngimbi said: “It’s so great to be back doing what we love! Live events have always been our bread and butter at Polarface. Usually a label would release its first 001 to launch, but things came differently at Polarface. I launched the label through events, hosting nights during my time studying at uni in Manchester.

“Over the years, I’ve seen the events that we host as being integral to the label’s identity and culture. Polarface’s live events have been very beneficial in not only promoting the artists signed to the label but also other great unsigned artists. I feel it’s important that I’m also championing and booking other artists outside the roster. I’d like there to be an open collaboration in the music industry, exemplified by our first two line ups consisting entirely of artists not featured on our own roster.

“Another factor in the TNW events launch is that I saw myself and my team suffering in such a challenging time for our industry without events. A lot of the artists I admire mostly come from the indie scene and they are not in the same position as major artists. Live music is their main outlet to promote themselves and their product. To finally have the opportunity to host these events with Dstnct Space, a company that I have great respect for, honestly feels like a joyous moment.”

TNW aims to give emerging artists a new stage allowing creative expression. Furthermore, it provides a hub that music industry execs/professionals can attend and witness emerging talent first hand.

Ngimbi elaborates further saying: “I’ve always wanted to create a hub of live gigs where people feel lucky and proud to say that they witnessed an artist who went on to do amazing things early in their careers. I feel proud to know that I have hosted events for some artists in little basement clubs who’ve gone on to do really well in their  careers. I would like to continue doing that and help the industry identify new talent.”

Polarface & Dstnct Space are open to submissions from any artist that would like to appear on the TNW bill. If any of the companies following the Independent Music Insider would like to involve their artists for TNW, the email to get in touch with is: info@polarfacemusic.co.uk.
