Round Hill Music Nashville appoint Mike Whelan as Senior Vice President and General Manager

Nashville, 25th March 2022 Round Hill Music Nashville has announced the appointment of industry veteran Mike Whelan to the position of Senior Vice President and General Manager.

He joins Round Hill Nashville from MV2 Entertainment where he was Senior Creative Director and will report directly to Steve Clark, Global COO of Round Hill Music. His appointment is effective immediately.

Born and raised in Nashville, Whelan attended Middle Tennessee State University where he received a degree in Recording Industry Management. He began his career in 1986 working closely with producer Norro Wilson and songwriters such as Steve Cropper and Mentor Williams.

After four years he left to join Polygram Music Publishing, where he worked with songwriters such as Bob McDill, Kostas and others. He moved to Acuff Rose Music in 1994 and subsequently to Sony Music Publishing when the company acquired Acuff Rose in 2002. He eventually rose to be Senior Vice President of Creative Services at the company.

During his career he has worked with superstar artists such as Kenny Chesney, Eric Church and most recently rising star Jordan Davis. He has also worked with numerous acclaimed songwriters such as Tony Martin, Casey Beathard, and Hall Of Famer Dean Dillon among others .
