Sentric signs Lanterns On The Lake in exclusive songwriting agreement

Alternative rock band released 4th studio LP on Bella Union in February

Liverpool, 22nd July 2020 Sentric Music Group has signed alternative rock quintet Lanterns On The Lake to an exclusive songwriting agreement.

The deal encompasses the band’s latest album, Spook The Herd (released in February on Bella Union), its predecessor Beings (2015), and future works over the next three years.

Formed in Newcastle in 2007, Lanterns On The Lake have received critical acclaim for both Spook The Herd and Beings, with praise from Mojo, Uncut, Long Live Vinyl, The Line Of Best Fit, Q, DIY and more.

They have sold 40,000 albums worldwide across four studio LPs, and will embark on a UK-wide headline tour in 2021.

Sentric’s Global Director Of Music Services, Simon Pursehouse, said: “I can honestly say that Lanterns On The Lake have been the soundtrack to many of my dreams since their debut release just under a decade ago, mainly thanks to the fact they’re my go-to artist as I wind down for the evening. Beautifully written songs delivered by an angelic vocal; I was floored the first time I listened to Spook The Herd, especially the outrageously gorgeous track Every Atom. I am chuffed to make them part of the Sentric family, they keep getting better with each album and I’m happy to hear they’re nowhere near finished yet.”

Lanterns On The Lake’s Bob Allan said: “We are really excited to be working with Sentric. As a publisher they have the perfect combination of global reach and independent spirit. As well as their first-rate royalty collection, they also have the best sync instincts, understanding where our music fits as well as believing in its potential. All of this made Sentric the ideal fit for us. Their passion, enthusiasm and personal touch makes them a pleasure to work with and we’re looking forward to what comes next.”
