West End star Aimie Atkinson partners with Absolute for debut solo single and EP

London, 22nd July 2021 Olivier Award nominated actor Aimie Atkinson has partnered with Absolute Label Services for her debut solo single and EP.

The single, a contemporary reimagining of Roy Orbison’s Pretty Woman, produced by Steve Anderson (Kylie, Britney, Westlife), was released on June 18.

It’s accompanied by a video paying homage to the iconic 1990 movie, which featured the Orbison original, and was followed by an acoustic version of the song at the start of July.

In the last few years, Atkinson has achieved great success in the world of musical theatre, with roles in Lin-Manuel Miranda’s In The Heights, Legally Blonde and the blockbusting SIX, to name a few.

She has since stepped into the leading role as Vivian Ward in Pretty Woman, which re-opened at London’s Savoy Theatre on July 8.

Atkinson said: “It feels like the right time for me to record an EP of my own to show my audience another side of me; the woman behind the musical roles, if you like! I’m very excited to be launching my first solo single. It’s a big moment… Huge!”
