London, 7th May 2026 First Artists Management (FAM)—the international talent agency representing composers, music supervisors, and music editors—has announced the return of its celebrated talent development scheme, the Composer Assistant and Mentor Programme (C.A.M.P.) supported by the Youth Music Industry Connect Fund, with confirmed Composer Mentors including Alex Baranowski, Anne Chmelewsky, Hannah Peel, and more.
Established in 2022, C.A.M.P. is set to further a growing record of creating tangible, high-profile opportunities and success stories for young emerging composers from underrepresented groups, building on its two successful cohorts and a growing mentor network, with a continued commitment to finding and developing the next generation of UK media composers.
Applications are now open for the third edition of C.A.M.P., with ten candidates selected for a three-month mentoring and educational programme before pitching for a full-time paid placement working as an assistant composer.
Previous C.A.M.P. mentees have been commissioned to score award-winning films, gained significant credits, built their skills and networks, and established themselves as professional media composers. Alumni achievements include:
- Lauren Finch was selected for paid assistant placement as selected for Stage 2, working alongside composer Alex Baranowski on a series for BBC and Paramount placement; in addition she was commissioned for the London Soundtrack Festival with her piece performed at the inaugural Gala Concert by the London Philharmonic Orchestra to great acclaim, on a programme honouring Howard Shore, and alongside music from Hildur Guðnadóttir, Natalie Holt, and Harry Gregson-Williams.
- Cecilia Morgan (AKA afromerm) won the C.A.M.P. 2024 mentee won the BFI short film pitch scoring, and scored the BFI short GIANTS, which was selected for multiple film festivals, including Leeds International Film Festival.
- Jamal Green was signed by FAM following his C.A.M.P. participation. He has since received BAFTA Breakthrough recognition and has scored three BAFTA-nominated TV series, including Sky’s Breeders, A24’s Dreaming Whilst Black and ITV’s hit comedy G’wed.
In 2025, 92% of the top 250 highest-grossing films had no women composers, and the share of Global Majority composers has stagnated at around 10% since 2020 (Lauzen, 2025, The Celluloid Ceiling; Rudaz, 2026, Composer Representation Report). C.A.M.P. aims to encourage and bring new and diverse voices into the industry, to push the creative boundaries, and to create new role models and communities for the next generations, while improving access and industry knowledge, and sustainable opportunities for those interested in a career in media composition.
Applications for C.A.M.P. 2026 are open from May 6 to UK-based entry-level music makers, age 18-25, who demonstrate enthusiasm and talent in this field. The application deadline is June 19, with stage one of the programme commencing at in July.
The C.A.M.P. LIVE launch party on May 6, in partnership with the Society of Composers and Lyricists (SCL), is part of a unique series of events that bring together professionals at all levels of the music-for-film industry. Panels for this summer’s edition feature industry professionals Jumi Akinfenwa, Nainita Desai, James Jacob, Justin Kwok, Bankey Ojo and David Tobin, followed by special screenings of the 2024 C.A.M.P. programme film GIANT, and music from FAM clients.
Hamish Duff, Talent Agent and Head of FAM’s European office in London, says:
In the global landscape of music for media, we are proud to continue supporting emerging U.K. composer talent looking to break into the music for film and TV industry.
The strength and momentum of C.A.M.P. in its third edition, with previous mentees consistently going on to work professionally in the industry, shows that the programme is a valuable talent discovery tool.
Lauren Finch, Composer and C.A.M.P. 2024 alumna, adds:
C.A.M.P has had such a positive impact on my development as a composer. The programme stands out for the unique and tangible opportunities it provides, and I’m grateful to have been part of an incredible experience.
Jamal Green, C.A.M.P. 2022 alumnus and FAM Composer, comments:
I learned so much about the ins and outs of the film scoring business in my time on C.A.M.P. The access to industry was incredible, and the mentoring sessions gave me a platform to connect with established leaders in the sector.
