YMU US Music Announce Taren Smith as Senior Manager

Based in New York, Smith will report directly to Andrew Goldstone, Executive Manager - US Music

Los Angeles & New York, 24th March 2022 The US Music division of international artist management company YMU has announced the promotion of Taren Smith to the position of Senior Manager.

Based in New York, Taren, whose appointment is effective immediately, will report directly to Andrew Goldstone, Executive Manager – US Music.

Taren joined YMU in 2017 as Associate Manager and held the position of Artist Manager when Deckstar Management was acquired by UK-born talent management firm James Grant Group.

A Billboard ‘Women In Music Top Executives 2022’ honoree, Taren began her career in 2012 at a boutique artist management company, before joining FOUR80 Music in 2013 where she represented KREAM, Treasure Fingers, and Codes. She Moved to Deckstar in 2017, when the company launched a NYC office managing Don Diablo and 3LAU with Andrew Goldstone and stayed with the company after its acquisition.

Taren has also played a key role in the recent exponential growth of music NFTs, overseeing      3LAU’s multiple record-breaking auctions, which have earned over $20M+ in sales.  3LAU’s success in this field along with other YMU clients led to the creation of a new division at the company, YMU Arts, where she signed the first client to the division, digital artist Slimesunday.

In addition, Taren also manages Norwegian DJ duo KREAM and Dubstep producer/DJ Sullivan King. She handled his successful crossover into the Rock space with collabs including Papa Roach, Jason Aalon of Fever 333, Spencer Charnas of Ice Nine Kills, and Aaron Gillespie of Underoath. Culminating with the release of his crossover album LOUD with Hopeless Records and earning a #1 hit on SiriusXM Octane with title track “LOUD.”
